We’re
Re-Opening
Coming Spring 2026
Good News…
Re-Opening 2026
It’s official. We’re re-opening in Spring 2026. Closed for over 5 years now, we would like to thank the local community for your patience and understanding. Over the last year, we have been hard at work behind the scenes, scratching our heads and working alongside our landlords at the Bathurst Estate to put the Tunnel House back on the map again as one of the most beautiful and idyllic country pubs in Britain.
We are so lucky, enjoying a uniquely stunning location beside the dormant Thames and Severn Canal and its majestic tunnel portal. Fellow walkers will be delighted to learn that before too long there will be a refreshment point here again, as you exit the vast Hailey Wood or embark on an amble along a choice of walks, including the stunning Thames and Severn Way, Macmillan Way, Monarch’s Way or Wysis Way.
Building work starts at the end of October this year, and we have been hard at work already, clearing away the years of undergrowth and re-establishing a car park which will be safe, green and ready for the springtime blossom.
Hopefully you will already know of our other beautiful pub, The Bell at Sapperton just over Hailey Wood and at the other end of the famous Sapperton Canal Tunnel. Likewise, at the Tunnel House we will aim to have a fabulous country inn, a hub for the local community and employer of lots of lovely local people again in no time at all.
Please subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social for regular updates over the coming months. We can’t wait to welcome you back.
